The bill to avert a default and raise the debt ceiling passed under a rare bi-partisan vote. So, is the country better off? On one hand, we cannot default without a major economic crisis but on the other there needs to be a very honest and real discussion about spending.
It certainly is positive that real leadership was shown in getting this bill across the goal line, but should we be applauding Congress for simply doing what they should be doing all along?
