A new monthly nationwide poll by John Zogby Strategies shows the President’s approval numbers pretty much unchanged from the April 2025 poll. The latest poll of 1,000 likely voters, conducted online from May 28 to 29, places Mr. Trump with an overall rating of 48%, with 49% disapproving. Three percent are not sure.

The President retains strong support among Republicans (88% approve, 11% disapprove), as well as among men (55% to 43%) and Hispanics (53% to 41%). He has deficits among independents (40% approve, 54% disapprove), Blacks (18%, 78%), women (42%, 54%), moderates (37%, 59%), and Democrats (12%, 86%).

He is bolstered by the strongest support for his policies on immigration and securing the southern border, where 56% approve and 40% disapprove, as well as government cost-cutting (50%, 44%).

On other issues, he is in a deficit situation, with more disapproving of his efforts than approving. Only 46% approve of his handling of the economy (50% disapprove). Forty-four percent support his policy on tariffs (51% disapprove). Voters are evenly split on his diplomacy (45% to 46%) and his policy toward Russia and Ukraine (45% vs. 46%).

Despite a number of setbacks in recent days and engaging in controversial use of his powers, Mr. Trump’s numbers remain the same.
