On our first episode of the New Year there is so much to talk about. Today is the national service honoring the life of former President Jimmy Carter. At the same time are we seeing a rare and possibly fleeting moment of bi-partisanship? There’s a recognition that Donald Trump won in a fair election and has a mandate and that the electorate need government to get to work to actually get things done.
Even AOC and Chuck Schumer have come out and said that Democrats cannot afford to be strictly anti-Republican on all issues. Is this an opportunity to reinvent themselves? Rejection is not a policy and in a time with multiple international crises and the terrible fires in Los Angeles, government must function.
How long might this sentiment last, and how does the recent rhetoric around Greenland derail potential for international cooperation?
Thanks for tuning in – we’ll see you next week.
