What was GDP growth (or decline) over the last quarter? GDP fell by .9% which technically puts us in a recession.
Moreover, have we been in a recession for along time that has just been papered over? Should the Fed also have the power that it has?
Also, come November, let’s look into the crystal ball and weigh the state of the economy vs other issues. Is the Republican advantage going into the midterms not as great as it once was? Is there Trump fatigue?
This week could be a pivotal week with potential congressional actions on chip manufacturing and climate that may show that things can still get done. If inflation can be brought under control and if gas prices continue to fall, is that enough to help the Democrats rebound?
