Let’s talk about spending. Two bills with two separate paths to passage are being debated in Congress. The first plan which covers ‘hard infrastructure’ is heading towards agreement and bi-partisan support. However, when it comes to ‘soft infrastructure’, Republicans are in stanch opposition.
Because of this, Democrats may attempt to pass this legislation through reconciliation, requiring only a simple majority.
The question we’ll debate this week is ‘should these bills pass?’ And if so, HOW should they pass? Further – we’ll talk in more broad terms about federal spending and what, if anything can be done to change it’s trajectory.
